Mailing lists are complicated, too. But the most productive solution,
one that's been used many times in the past, is to gateway the mailing
list to the newsgroup, so that you don't create 2 separate discussion
areas instead of one bigger one. With 2 separated groups, you'll end
up with a lot of repeated discussion, and worse, any discussion which
isn't repeated isn't going to be reaching all the people who'd want to
read it...

I don't. A friend told me about it, because he was astounded that you
thought that only Internet folks had the attitude that exploiting bugs
was cheating. I can name lots of postal gamers and postal gaming
companies that'd disagree with you... Adventures By Mail, for example,
publically chastised the Chatan for abusing a bug in the Capitol
playtest. It might be nice to take a survey on this issue, actually,
but it's hard to believe that the average Internet player feels any
different about this issue than the average snail-mail player.
