The commercial hobby is split between the companies who think that ''insular''
is best and keep PBM's 'width'' secret from their players to prevent
player-loss, and companies which tell their players everything they can about
the hobby because they believe that this will cause the hobby to grow and have
a benefit to them later on because of this.

I used to be one of the latter.  These days I've moved a little over and
believe there is some happy ground between the two.  But the former seems like
a mad strategy to me, even though I can see *why* they think that, I still
think they are ultimately making a mistake.

Of course, the biggest PBM company in the world practices the 'insular' method
proudly and they are still the biggest, so maybe Im wrong. <grin>
