Of course, it's probably almost impossible to do a good review of any
open-ended game anyway. The reviewer either hasn't played long enough
or doesn't know enough information to do it right. BSE is a good
example of that: there's no way that a reviewer who'd played it for a
few months at the start could find out that a few mineral deposits are
enormously better than average, or that the combat system got screwed
up as battles got larger. They might have been able to deduce that the
economic system was subject to gross inflation, but probably not. And
so on.

A reviewer of a closed-ended game can screw up in a similar fashion.
I've learned to pay my money and take my lumps.
