Oh, he started out with an expert rating in init and >attack. Which leads me to my next question? Generally the game run fighters (not counting the dark arena guys) aren't that good, and many can be taken out easily. You got two experts on the roll-up? Excellent. >2) What affect does skills and ratings have on the fight? As I understand >it a fighter can learn X amount of skills during a fight and after so many >skills they get a rating in that skill? I have the chart that was posted a >bit ago (Stats to Skills) but I don't quite follow it? Each fighter has a "base" number of skills in each of the six skill arena. Err areas. This number is determined by a) the fighter's style b) the starting numbers and c) a luck factor when the warrior is rolled up. Thus, by all these, your lunger got experts in Attack and Initiative (two areas lungers are generally high in) at the start. Each skill your fighter learns in these areas will make him more effectent in these areas...more attack skills will lead to more critical hits, more initiative skills means he won't be so easily riposted, etc. Don't worry about the stats/skills just yet...go for skills all the way. Stat raises can give you skills, but can hurt your learning ability if you raise those stats too soon. >4) Ok here are my new rolls: > >11-13-5-10-10-5-16 11-13-5-15-15-8-17, waste, parry strike or slasher. I'd prefer the waste of this group, using either a scimitar or a broadsword and offhand shield. >9-7-11-5-12-10-16 > >9-9-9-13-14-4-12 9-7-11-11-17-12-17 or 9-7-11-9-17-10-21 for the first one, probably a dixie lunger either way 11-9-9-17-17-4-17 definately on the second one, excellent as either a waste, tp (honest), parry-lunge or aimed blow, tho I would not recommend an aimed blow until you get a number of more turns under your belt. DON'T ADD CON! DON'T ADD CON! I can't stress this enough. There are times where adding con is a distinct possiliblity, but neither of these are the case.
