Advice Wanted (DM) From: mysticbob@aol.com Date: Wed, 26 Jan 1994 18:11:28 +0000 Howdy all! I got my second turn back and thanks to the DA have three new roll-ups to work with. But before I get to those I have a couple of questions about my turn results. 1) I went with the majority of advice I got and now have a lunger with 11-5-9-15-17-10-17. You guys most know something because I ran him with leather armor and a longsword going 10-10-6 every round and he won big. He went against a game run Convicted Thief and wounded him on the left hand. And then the thief gave up? What's with this? Is the thief a wimp? Was it an incredible blow? Oh, he started out with an expert rating in init and attack. Which leads me to my next question? 2) What affect does skills and ratings have on the fight? As I understand it a fighter can learn X amount of skills during a fight and after so many skills they get a rating in that skill? I have the chart that was posted a bit ago (Stats to Skills) but I don't quite follow it? 3) What is some basic strategy on attack and protect locations? I don't see much posted about them? Do they matter? 4) Ok here are my new rolls: 11-13-5-10-10-5-16 9-7-11-5-12-10-16 9-9-9-13-14-4-12 For the most part I still don't have any clue on what to do with my roll-ups. I've gathered that wit is important, but hopefully guy #2 with wit 5 isn't a total lost cause. And from my limited observation here are two fighters I came up with based on the third roll-up 11-11-9-17-15-9-12 Parry-Striker 13-12-9-15-19-4-12 Waste I made these two based on articles about the styles I found posted on this group. If anyone has more articles about other styles or even fighter make-up in general I'd love a copy. Here is what I have pulled off the net so far: Phido's PS article Weapons vs. Armor Phido's Waste article DM FAQ Stats to Skills Weapons vs. Styles Weapons and Stats Requirements TP Overview If there are other generic info docs out there could someone post them? Thanks for all your wonderful adviceso far! I'm looking forward to hearing more. Take care! -Shawn *********************************************************** I'm not a sig but I play one on this post. mysticbob@aol.com *********************************************************** Referenced By Up
