It is true that Altars are heavy and normally stop you moving when you have
them in use, however, there are ways round it.  Give the person a warmount
with a large carrying capacity.  In Crown of Avalon I have 5 priests of
Gorgoroth with Black Altars, they all also have a Warmamoth, 300CC.  The
Warmamoth has a move of 20 which is bad, but keep it in the possessions
slots, don't equip it.  That way the character gets the benefit of the CC
but retains his own movement rate!  Mad but true.  Wardragons/drakes in NIC
could be good/better for this.
