I think Protection is extrememly useful.  Just picture yourself wearing
another set of Platemail (about lvl 5 protection).  I know that when I
adventured with Silencer (lvl8-9 I believe) I took hits from monsters
that suprised me.  And we really hit some hard monsters: Black Ilsoren,
Enlightened Cyclops, Bandit Lord, Shifter....
But then again Cure Party is probably the most vital skill on an adventure.
If you are not healed all the way, you start the next fight wounded.  After
you get to 1000-1500 powerlvl you will start seeing where a healer is not
enough...
If I were soloing, Cure Party.  If in a group, make sure both are covered.
Also don't forget Bandage Wounds(highest skill lvl only) it acts almost
like a multiplier for Cure Party.

No. They are great dodgers, but I really like Cunning&Strength.
Not saying they are no good, just don't fit with my style.

Try asking for a loan from a high character?  Most serious groups really
bring in some cash.  I have seen a lvl 20 bring in about 1400 gc
and another 10000 in items.  Granted few can do a lvl 20 anymore, but you can
get the picture...

But not everyone has any idea whatsoever on how well their
character/group will do on an adventure.  Training amulets really are useful.
I know I have used them more than once.
