I would have to disagree (somewhat :) ) on lower power characters going
against higher powered characters.  If this were the case, Golden at
almost 5000 power would barely be scratching Skeleton Warlords now. :)  And we
would have never been able to defeat Bandit Lords, etc when we were 800-1000
power. :)  The weapon damage blurb has always been misleading IMO.  On your
results it'll say 'minor damage', but on someone else's results it will say
'very heavy' or 'heavy' or even 'moderate'.  I guess Hugh keeps it this way as
it's a different point of view from one character seeing another hit some
other character.  Plus, at Gencon, a very good example of lower powered people
doing serious damage to higher powered people would be Team Hammerhand vs Paz.
 We also ran Team Hammerhand vs Vanya and the Hammerhands vs Golden.  Free
shots with a 35-40 STR heavy warhammer 1500 power against a 4000+ power
character did wonderful. :)  Team Hammerhand lost all 3 fights, but it was
quite a match.  Of course, this leads back to weapon type and strength
factors, and not just power level.

I think the ability to take more damage on higher-ups is from around 40+
damage point bonuses and also from around 5-15 more points in stamina than the
lower folks, so it's not so much being higher power....

Agreed on the crits.  On damage doing, I'd probably say yes, you do gain extra
damage dealing from higher weapon levels.

Agreed, as does dexterity.

Jiblet- If you like to deal maximum damage, I'd go the high STR and heavy
weapon route.  Weapon skill points really don't matter much when you have a 40
STR and a heavy warhammer even at level 6 (look at Vrock Hammerhand!). :)
Hell, even Paz beat Golden at Gencon using a (bleeping) level 1 greatsword
against her level 12 longsword (I parried 100% and Paz dodged/retreated 100%).
