No, it wouldn't decrease the realism of the game at all.  A noble who
is better at archery might train better archers or make better use of
them, etc.  Competent warriors should have *some* advantage, don't you
think?  You don't have to give advantages universally, swordplay might
only help swordsmen and knights, archery archers, defense soldiers.

We've already determined that a noble's proficiency means ABSOLUTELY
NOTHING in the current system.  All nobles are created equal and the
victory goes unerringly to the one with the biggest pile (whether
biggest means numbers of units or strength is debatable).
