I personally enjoy reading informative non-hyped ads here. I've only gone
to Greg's list a couple of times for browsing purposes. I guess I'm more
apt to respond to a current ad I've seen in this newsgroup than to contact
one from the list. I know from helping produce AF the short lifespans of
some PBM companies. It seems to take a long time for game info from
defunct companies to be deleted from everywhere they're listed (not just
on Greg's list). This is probably because these companies don't post
messages declaring their demise, they just fade away. I can be fairly sure
that a company that just posted an ad in this newsgroup is up and running.
I would even like the old guard PBM companies to occasionally post ads
about new variants or updates on their old games, just to let everyone
know they're games are still alive and available. You never know when you
just might want to join a game of Starweb again <G>.
