How about 'all games for which the moderators have some form of active
involvement in the newsgroup'?

As I've stated previously, a lot of the GMs posting who are pro-ads have
a fairly constant presence in this news group.  They are available to
answer questions, provide information and generally contribute to the
ongoing discussion.  This, in my view, gives them the "right" to an ad
every now and then, as part of the give-and-take process.

Why, exactly, should a GM who has never set foot in the group and makes
no contribution, ie "gives" nothing, be allowed to "take" at the same
level?  If you are going to post the ads, are you prepared to liase
personally with all the companies concerned to ensure that the same level
of "backup" is available as for the games run by group regulars?

If companies can't or won't get "directly involved", they don't deserve the
ads.  That's the whole argument, IMHO - the companies involved are
*contributing* as well as *advertising*.  Without the contribution,
they're on the same level as the trading cards auctioneer and the psychic
phone lines.
