Tycoon Game 1 begins (free) From: Steve Andrewartha <steve@cts.canberra.edu.au> Date: Mon, 10 Aug 1998 00:00:00 +0000 The playtesting is finally over. Tycoon, an open-ended PBW game about stock trading and corporate management, has begun as an unlimited-duration game. And it's free. Tycoon is a game about money. Your income derives from the wages you earn by working for manufacturing companies, and the dividends you receive by owning them. This income, averaged over the last 7 turns, is your measure of success in the game and the factor that determines your ranking on the Player Register. In between "productions", players are at liberty to engage in as much trading and company management as desired. It is at this time that stock changes hands, stockholder support (for company directors) changes, supply tenders are penned, dividend rates are changed, employees sign up or quit etc. There is no need to interact with the server between each and every production, which occur 3 times a day Mon-Fri, once per day at the weekend. It's play-by-web only, and you'll find it at - http://www.idle.com/~tycoon/tycoon.cgi Steve Andrewartha. Up
