EWGP - NEW E-FED NEEDS A STARTING LINE UP OF WRESTLERS From: "Outshined" <Sunat@btinternet.com> Date: Wed, 09 Sep 1998 00:00:00 +0000 EWGP HANDBOOK UM... THE E - WHAT? The EWGP - European Wrestling Grand Prix. The new E-Fed for the Wrestling fans of Europe. BUT THERE ARE OTHER EURO FEDS OUT THERE - WHY THE HELL SHOULD I JOIN YOURS? Good question! Let's be upfront - we have no website, no experience in running an e-fed, and no big name stars in our roster. We have but one quality to offer any potential members - a love of intense roleplaying and hardcore wrestling action - two qualities which we feel have been sorely missing from the e-fed scene of late. O-KAY... ERM, REMIND ME, WHAT EXACTLY IS AN E-FED? Put basically, a roleplaying game played via e-mail. The players and GM's play out the goings on in an imaginery wrestling federation, in this case, the European Wrestling Grand Prix. During the week you'll submit roleplays to me, the GM-... NO, HOLD ON, YOU'RE GOING TOO FAST. SUBMIT ROLEPLAYS? WHAT'S THAT ALL ABOUT? Roleplaying in an E-fed concerns your wrestler doing plenty of trash talking - either via interviews, video montages, or whatever other way you feel would be most appropiate. Introduce yourself to the rest of the fed, let us know your goals, issue challanges to other wrestlers, boast of your recent succeses, comment on the political situation in Liechtenstein - anything you feel will develop your characer. Submit all roleplays to me at sunat@btinternet.com - I will then mail them out to the rest of the federation, every couple of days. I'M NOT HERE TO TALK, I'M HERE TO FIGHT! Sure, but no one wants to watch two guys just slugging it out for the sake of it. It's far more interesting if the two guys in the ring have some sort of history - a feud that must be settled on the day. Use roleplays to create rivalries and alliances between yourself and the other wrestlers - it makes the whole thing more interesting all round. OKAY, SO WHERE AND WHEN DO I FIGHT THE OTHER GUY? To start with we will hold two cards - on Monday and Saturday nights respectively. I promise more cards will be created when the EWGP's roster fills out. Use e-mail roleplays to find a partner to tango with. Don't worry if an opponent isn't immediately forthcoming, there are still two more ways of arranging a fight. First, you can e-mail me requesting a mystery opponent - another wrestler who's lack of social skills have prevented him from finding a date for the night. Or secondly, you can opt to take up a match against a "jobber", an out of shape guy in trunks who's basically paid to turn up on the night and lose. When fighting against a jobber, there is a 99% chance that you'll win the match - you'll only ever risk defeat if your wrestler steps into the ring injured, or if you mess up in your roleplays BIGTIME. Taking up fights aganst jobbers sounds like an easy way to climb up the rankings, but bear in mind that your wrestler will learn nothing from beating jobber after jobber week in, week out. Let's say you're involved in a title fight. You've wrestled 11 times in the past 3 months, beating 11 jobbers on the way. The Champ, on the other hand, has only Wrestled twice, but in those matches fended off challanges from two of the greatest wrestlers in the EWGP. Who'll be more matchfit? Who'll be sharpest? The Champ by a mile, a bout against a top wrestler will teach you more than fights against any number of jobbers. If you earn a titleshot by taking loads of soft bouts against jobbers, chances are on the day of the fight, the Champ will expose you for the bum you really are. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!! SO JOBBER'S ARE A PIECE OF CAKE. HOW DO I WIN BOUTS AGAINST REGULAR OPPONETS? The winner of a match will be decided on a number of factors. The quality (note, NOT quantity) of roleplays is one such factor, as these show which guy is more determined. Secondly, before each bout you're involved in (apart from matches against jobbers) you should e-mail your wrestler's strategy. Make this as short or as detailed as you like, it's a free for all, there are no set strategy parameters. We're supposed to be roleplaying here for God's sake, let your imagination run wild! Thirdly, your wrestler's statistics will have some bearing on the outcome of the match, or more specifically on certain actions you try to perform. For example, let's assume your wrestler is an 80 pound weakling, and in your match strategy you have detailed that you'd like to finish your opponet off with a Gorrilla Press. All well and fine, until you realise that the said opponent is a 600 pound dumptruck... attempting a gorrilla press on the night might end up with your wrestler taking a hasty visit to the casualty ward of the local hospital. Big guys can put themselves at a disadvantage too, if you happen to be the same 600 pounder mentioned in the example above, and you're opponent is an 80 pound martial arts expert, it wouldn't be wise to try and beat him at his own game - he'll run rings round you, chances are you won't even get a punch in. The point is, when writing up your strategy, bear in mind your wrestler's physical strengths and weaknesses - remember that 600 pounder's flop rather than fly. CAN I INTEFERE IN MATCH INVOLVING A RIVAL/ ALLY? Do bear's shit in the woods? E-mail me before the said bout with details of what form your "inteference" will take, but try not to get too carried away, bear in mind that actually stepping into the ring and attacking an allie's opponent could end up getting your friend disqualified. But hey, maybe that was your intention all along, eh guys? Guys? Er, guuuuyyysss...? CAN I TAYLOR A BOUT TO MY OWN TASTES? So long as your opponent agrees up front, the type of fight you can arrange need only be limited by your imagination. However, the more extreme a fight, the more risk there is of your wrestler picking up a career threatening injury. Don't come crying to me when the weapons fight you arranged results in your wrestler having both his legs broke, or when your prettyboy wrestler gets his face permanently scarred by the barbed wire ring that you thought would be such a great idea to wrestle in... IS THAT GOLD I SMELL IN THE AIR? No, but thanks for giving me a cue for listing all the different championships avaliable in the EWGP. Note that all Championships must be defended at least once a month. Faliure to keep up the monthly mandatory defence will result in a wrestler being stripped of the title. EWGP Heavyweight Championship - The champion of the powerhouses. Once we have a champion, only the top 3 contenders (that is to say, ranks 2,3 and 4) will be allowed to challange for the Heavyweight Championship. EWGP Lightweight Championship - The champion of the guys who, shock horror, are actually talented. A lightweight in the EWGP is any wrestler weighing less than 220 pounds. Only the top 3 contenders can challange for this belt. EWGP Inter Divisional Championship - A championship which can both be contested for by Heavy and Light weights. Only the top 4 contenders in both the Heavy and Light weight divisions (8 wrestlers) are allowed to challange for this belt. EWGP North European Champion - No weight or rank limits, but to qualify to fight for this belt, your wrestler must come from North Europe (Britain, Iceland or Scandinavia) EWGP Mediterranean Champion - No weight or rank limit, but to qualify to fight for this belt, your wreslter must come from Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, or Cyprus. EWGP Eastern European Champion - No weight or rank limit, but in order to fight for this belt your wrestler must come from Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Socialist Republics, or the Balkans. EWGP Western European Champion - No weight or rank limit, but in order to fight for this title, your wrestler must come from a country in Europe not covered under on of the 3 regional titles above. EWGP Tag Team Championship - Suprisingly enough, the championship for tag teams. No weight limit, but only the top 3 contenders can challange for this belt.
