This is probably lower on the technological totem pole than you may want

If you're a fan of micro games and other such board games, that's a
good place to start for graphical PBEM gaming.

On the other hand, if you're looking for computer games that do PBEM,
Empire Deluxe has always been a favorite of mine.  Incubation (3D, turn
based, tactical combat) is an excellent choice if you're looking for
something with more chrome and action.
