Re: [open PBEM RPG] The Game Of Immortals From: "Brandon Van Every" <vanevery@earthlink.net> Date: Thu, 15 Oct 1998 00:00:00 +0000 CODEX MORTUS -------------------------- In the beginning, there were Men. Men gave birth, men suckled children. Men raised life, and men died. Men farmed houses, grew swords, grew wise, and slew one another. And so in their image, they created the Gods. The Gods were more powerful than men, embodying their whims, their aspirations, their desires. The Gods found they had no need of men, and cast them away. Mortus bit the souls of men between his steel teeth. He clawed their works into dust with his skeletal hand. Mortus took men and all their works to the end of the universe. Upon this boundary of space and time, he ended himself. With him, passed the Soul and all hope of salvation from eternity. The Gods now ponder what it means to be without men. If we are all Gods, and we are Immortal, and we cannot die, and we have thrown our toys the mortals away, what shall we do to entertain ourselves? We sit, we watch, we ponder. We relate, invent, and lie. Peace, remonstrance, abrogation. We challenge nothingness. In Death do we trust, we who cannot die. - Miokwo ------------------------------------------- THE GAME OF IMMORTALS ------------------------------------------- Please see my previous post and send me a writing sample if interested.
