Have you read the rules for BFM on grognard.com?  It'll clear up how the
game is played face-to-face and possibly present some PBEM solutions.

I know CB has a built-in dice roller so there's no need to access a web
site or e-mail a dice server.

For V_MAP (which shares some similarity to CB), it's a matter of reading
the save file, performing actions (based on the rules of the game), saving
the update and e-mailing the results to your opponent(s).  I'd include an
explanitory text with the e-mail that your opposite number can follow as
they play back your turn.
