Galaxy - cargo tech formula suggestion From: Christopher Shaffer <shaffer@uic.edu> Date: Tue, 27 Oct 1998 00:00:00 +0000 I've been wondering this for a while, so I thought I'd ask :-) Why isn't the cargo tech multiplier applied before the cargo total is calculated? Thus, I would rather see cargo be calculated as: capacity = (tech * num) + (((tech * num) + (tech * num))^2/10) instead of the current: capacity = tech * (num + num^2/10) Cargo tech is the least-researched tech because when applied to the final cargo total it's a nearly useless addition - you can do virtually the same thing by researching drive, which applies to all your ships. Using the formula I proposed above, there is some incentive to research cargo tech early in the game. ----- I'm going to be dead for billions and billions of years. If I don't make a fool of myself on a regular basis, I'll feel like I've wasted my life. Chris Shaffer shaffer@uic.edu http://www.uic.edu/~shaffer/ Referenced By Up
