VBs pretty good for front ends and assistant programs, but it wouldn't be my
language of choice for a full system.  It's slow and clunky compared to
something like "C" and not as powerful... and it has a dire filing system
unless you use Windows API routines to access the files directly.

I run Odyssey in the UK as a postboxed game from the U.S. and the Front End
that i use to handle accounts and printing of turns I wrote in VB5.  But most
of our games are "C" based.  I did once write a wrestling PBM in VB5, but I
never released it.

the text 2 Voice thing and Voice Recog.?  It'd sure be interesting to see
those incorporated into a PBEM game, no?  Voice activated commands and

Not entirely easy to set up yet, but I
wouldn't be surprised to see it happen
sooner or later.  I think it would be a bit
'gimmicky', a bit like the PBM firm
that used to give out an 'audio cassette'
with their game... how very sad.
