Play by Mail Future +BG 1 & III From: "Nic Haynes" <cakey_pig@lineone.net> Date: Wed, 18 Nov 1998 00:00:00 +0000 Hi FirstlyI dont mean to upset anybody by this message. If you are annoyed, then please dont send me any nasty letteres. Im really not doing it for the wrong reasons! I thought I'd drop you a line about PBM. It's quite important... Firstly (here's the catch), I'd like to just mention a couple of my seven games. My company's English, and it's called Cakey Pig. Honest. Right. I'll get to the bit about the future of PBM in a minute :o) My games (without further ado) BLOOD GRACE I: The War between Heaven and Hell and BLOOD GRACE III: The Fallen The Fallen is my main concern. I'm holding a play-test. It's the best game I've ever written. Really. I'm sooo pleased with it. Already I've taken on enough suggestions to add 20 pages to the rules! Don't worry, they're only small still, and broken up nicely! It's based in a world where Idani live. The Idani are a race of Immortals who are fleeing Atlantis after the Earth Dragon (the world) has begun to destroy it due to the depredations of the Idani. The Idani have magic, and have created Mythics, experiments from Atlantis. These have fled and broken loose, whilst the Angelchrist and World Eater have appeared in Egypt and the Holy Land. Already emergent triubes of humans have polarised, but more appear from the steppes of Russia. The Greeks (Dorians, Aetolians and Ionians) have joined the Angelchrist (with the Cimbri and Teutones, and others join the World Eater in Egypt. You can play an Idani character (very powerful) in Atlantis, an Idani (as a god) with an allied tribe, an Idani king in a settlement, a Mythic character, a Mythic Pride, Fey Caers (Children of the Earth Dragon in a massive tree-fortress), Baen Sidhe (Banshee), or whatever you want! You can even create your own mythic beasts, although the selection have never been seen before. If you like the idea, then the play test is for ten turns, but costs postage and 10.00 for the rules and stationery for the game. It looks gorgeous by the way (I'm a professional designer). Okay? IF THIS E-MAIL ADDRESS IS DIFFERENT, TRY: cakey_pig@lineone.net BLOOD GRACE I is set in the same background (to a degree), but is set in Feudal times. Here, the World Eater has gathered the Egyptians, with African allied cannibals, the Moors and the Seljuk Turks, and is fighting for control of the Holy Land, for the treasures of the Idani dead. The Church of the Angelchrist is powered through a newly elected Pope, who controls the reklatively small militant orders, such as the Templars, the Hospitallers and the Leper Knights the Lazarines (and others). Idani have infiltrated human society, and have assumed the mantles of leadership as Western Fuedal Lords (we can negotiate evil positions). These have access to Knight Retainers, Regulars and Feudal Levies, as well as myriad mercenaries. The game is already developed into a war and power struggle, and is the ultimate medieval game, although it has certain elements of fantasy. With Blood Grace III its my best game, and they are very different in application. Good stuff! Thanks for listening! The idea for the future of PBM is this: For 50.00 I am creating a massive site for those games/GMs who will join. This will involve all sorts of things, including an interactive news-letter, which will grow as YOU put your thoughts on it, will feature offers, presentations, editorial, daily changes, a player databse for GMs and players alike. Uhm. There will be a CD authoring service for the rules for EVERY game on the site, which will look pretty and readable. You name it...it's got it.It will also host, for free (designed by me, if you want), player sites for games they play in.... If you know of anyone who's interested, then get them to E-Mail me! Cheers, Nic Haynes Up
