Three New GalaxyNG Games at Geek.NET!!! From: Galaxy PBeM Server <galaxy@geek.net> Date: Wed, 25 Nov 1998 00:00:00 +0000 I am currently starting three new GalaxyNG games. Registration will continue through Monday, December 7. Sometime in the evening I will cull the respondants together and send out the turn0 reports. GAME 1: Galaxy Warpath # of Turns/week: 5 Day/Time Processed: SU M T W Th at 6:30 pm CST # of Homeworlds: 4 Max # of Players: None NOTES: The is another of the ever-popular "blitz" games where turns run every night (except Friday and Saturday) In this game, players will have a decent cluster of worlds close to them with a good distance between races. Action should be slow to build as initial concentration will be on colonization and industry building, then things will get ugly as large fleets duke it out for dominance! There will be few "stuff" planetoids filling the void between clusters This game is simliar to the "Cluster" and "Domination" games already running, except the scale will be slightly smaller and the turns run more frequently. Turn1 reports will be generated as normal on Tuesday, December 8th. GAME 2: Galaxy Empire # of Turns/week: 1 Day/Time Processed: Th at 6:00 pm CST # of Homeworlds: 10(!!!) Max # of Players: None NOTES: In this game, players are given a large number of initial planets, fully populated and industrialized. The representation is of an large, old-grown empire just about ready to begin space expansion in earnest. Expect early battles as small forces stomp quickly on the unprepared and then the remainders suck it up for the large fights of the late game. Turn1 reports will be generated on Thursday, December 10th. After that, the normal 1 week schedule will take effect. GAME 2: Galaxy Sierra # of Turns/week: 2 Day/Time Processed: Tu and Fri at 6:00 pm CST # of Homeworlds: 1 Max # of Players: None NOTES: In this game, each player is given a single world. Around each player's world are only a couple of planets with decent population, instead almost the entire universe is made up of tiny "stuff" planetoids and asteroids. Since each player will have only a limited industry, the primary focus of the game will be to both secure as many small planets as possible and to use your limited resources for both defense and offense. Players in this game will find new challenges compared to the large and resource rich galaxies of other games. Turn1 reports will be generated on Tuesday, December 8th. ---- TO ENROLL Send an email to galaxy-register@geek.net. In the subject line, put the words 'enroll gamename'. For example 'enroll empire'. The order is not case sensitive. The body of the message is ignored. Please do not enroll in the game if you are not interested in playing or don't think you'll have the time. Having 30% of the players not even bother to submit turn1 orders gets a little old! The turn0 report will be sent to the address in the FROM: line of the message. If you want your reports to go to a different address, you will have to change them in your turn1 orders. Up
