Not Wargame or RPG Pbems From: pe4ce@erols.com (Stephen Glenn) Date: Thu, 07 Jan 1999 00:00:00 +0000 Greetings. I am new to this newsgroup. I usually haunt the rec.games.board group because I am, at heart, a lover of face-to-face gaming. However, having gotten older with a wife and littl'uns, I rarely have time to get together with a regular gaming group. Hence, I've been looking into Pbem. Unfortunately, the only kinds of games I'm seeing on this newsgroup are either heavy wargames or RPGs (that's not so much a complaint as an observation). I am mostly interested in the beer-and-pretzels type of game (some would say German- type games) -- some examples would be Lowenherz, El Grande, Settlers of Catan, Formula De, etc. Are any of these types of games available for PBEM? Or would I be pioneering this particular genre of PBEM? I have downloaded SMS and Cyberboard (and I'm seriously thinking about laying $70 down for ADC2). Is there any interest in this kind of thing?
