PBM Mag - what kind of market? From: Roy <plod@proweb.co.uk> Date: Mon, 11 Jan 1999 00:00:00 +0000 Hi all, Just heard some good news that a recently quiet but promising-looking zine is about to re-launch - Can't say which one as I think the Editors will hate me for pre-empting them. The zine has done a few issues - all of them interesting and blending both popular and informative articles - and looks to have the potential to fill perhaps a gap in the market left by PBM Scroll.. What I'm interested to know is.. What type of support will the PBM running people give it? I think any PBM zine will suffer if there is a lack of interest shown by the people for whom it is catering. Are the days when PBM companies enthusiastically advertise other people zines over, or is there still a chance of free advertising to perhaps benefit the hobby by showing that the old dogs not yet dead? What type of support will the PBM-playing people give it? How much would YOU pay? What would you want to see in it, and if you didn't see what you liked would you make the effort to tell the Editors and perhaps offer help in the form of articles? Would the average PBM player be willing to spend fve minutes spreading the word about what is potentially more writings about the PBM hobby? What would put you off reading a PBM zine? More's the point, what would grab your attention? My own opinions on all this I'm keeping to myself - I just want to hear what OTHER people think, if nly to benefit those who might be reading this NG with a thought to doing something constructive. Any thoughts? ROY Day One and Isles co-GM Referenced By Up
