ANNOUNCE: New Team Galaxy Game at Geek.NET (Tiger2) From: Galaxy PBeM Server <galaxy@geek.net> Date: Thu, 04 Mar 1999 00:00:00 +0000 A N N O U N C I N G ! ! ! Geek.NET is pleased to announce a new Galaxy game. Tiger2, the sequel to the ever-popular Tiger game, is now signing up new players. Tiger2 will be unlike other Galaxy games. Players will be divided into two teams if equal size so that they can coordinate together as huge alliances to whallop the enemy. Each team will also elect a "Supreme Commander" who will receive information about which team members are idle and will have the power to hand idle empires over to other people. The exact parameters of the game (size, number of planets, etc) are undecided at this point and will be decided by consensus after enrollment is completed. I am thinking of running the game at two turns per week, but the exact timing and turn rate will be decided by consensus prior to launching Turn0. Players will also be added to two mailing lists, one for the entire game and one specifically for their team. ---- TO ENROLL Send an email to galaxy-register@geek.net. In the subject line, put the words 'enroll Tiger2'. The order is not case sensitive. The body of the message is ignored. Please do not enroll in the game if you are not interested in playing or don't think you'll have the time. Having 30% of the players not even bother to submit turn1 orders gets a little old! You should receive an automated response back from the system verifying that you have been enrolled. The turn0 report will be sent to the address in the FROM: line of the message. If you want your reports to go to a different address, you will have to change them in your turn1 orders. NOTE: These games will use the new GalaxyNG 3.5 which has some new options. Please see http://gumpu.student.utwente.nl/~galaxyng for more information. Up
