Customer service - what customer service? From: Martin Nicholson <Martin@crozet.demon.co.uk> Date: Mon, 08 Mar 1999 00:00:00 +0000 I have been away from the PBM/PBEM scene for quite a while having been left very unhappy by the Supernova fiasco. This January I thought I would give the hobby another go. It is therefore sad to have to report that nothing seems to have improved, if anything the quality of the service has gone down still further. Continental Rails - Madhouse advertised the game in a full page advert in Flagship. However although they have had my money for over six weeks they have failed to send me anything. I assume they are waiting for a game to fill but it would be nice to be told! Score = 0/10 Iron and Steam - I made contact via their web site. My first EMail was ignored. My second EMail received a reply that told me the game was no longer on offer. So why advertise it Harlequin games! Score = 1/10 Postal American Football League - Prompt reply which was nice but they required me to pay for a full season in advance. Their half page advert made no mention of this - indeed I would say that their advert is most misleading in this respect. I have no intention of paying for an entire season until I know if I am going to enjoy the game! Score = 3/10 Overall I think this is a fairly dreadful performance from some of the better known names in the hobby.
