What method of "converting it to PDF" were you using?  I'm interested,
because I've never seen anything *that* bad.  PDFWriter is a worthless piece
of shit, IMO, and will produce needlessly huge files that do not display
right on-screen.  Distiller, however, is quite efficient, and very
customizable.
