WEFS looking for a new manager From: Timo Ojala <skidi@ee.oulu.fi> Date: Thu, 10 Jun 1999 00:00:00 +0000 Email based WEFS (Weekly Electronic Football Simulation) is moving into Season VI in a couple of weeks time. WEFS contains four divisions (Elite, Second, Third, Fourth), 16 teams in each. The play comprises a regular season of 30 weekly matches, a cup interleaved with the regular season, and a World Cup every other season. In short WEFS is all about resource management, both in short and long term. WEFS is exact in the sense that the manager gets a detailed numerical response to match and coaching orders. Consequently, a manager can resort to number crunching to maximize his chances, but of course there is always the unknown in form of the opponent, and the random factor in form of the WEFS RNG (Random Number Generator). There is one vacant manager position in Fourth division. If you are interested in playing, download Season V Rulebook from http://www.eefl.org/wefs, and submit a legal roster in the designated format (see Section 'Team Creation' in the Rulebook) no later than Wednesday June 16th at 1400 GMT. Participation in other similar games (e.g. EEFL, LEFL, FEFL, ES) is regarded as a bonus, hence please enclose the name of the game, the name and email address of the commissioner, and the name of your team inwith your roster entry. WEFS is free, i.e. there are no monetary charges involved. The only 'price' a manager has to pay is that he/she submits match orders regularly and in time before deadlines. Therefore I seek responsible managers who are willing to make a long term commitment to WEFS. Only legal error-free rosters will be considered. If there are several valid entries, I reserve the right to choose the most competitive looking manager, based on the roster entry and other possible related activities. Best regards, Timo Ojala WEFS Commissioner Up
