Some food, a shovel, a handful of silver and a sack to carry them. He shivered, and wished that he'd thought to bring clothes. Approaching a sawmill, he spied the foreman's office off to one side. "Industrialism is fantastic, don't you think", bubbled the foreman enthusiastically, apparently unperturbed by the fact that his visitor was nude and a complete stranger. "Look, we cut the wood 'ere, give it to the smiths who turn it into bows, which we 'and over to the bowmen, who use them to scare people into giving us money! It's great!" "Yes, I'm sure it is", replied the newcomer impatiently. "I'm looking for someone who probably wears a cloak all the time - seen him?" "Oh, you must mean the boss. No, I've never seen 'im myself. 'e never leaves Stinchar, they tell me. Take the road east if you want to get there. Want to see some tax receipts?" "Some other time time, perhaps". The Voice retreated hurriedly from the office and set off to find the road to Stinchar and a tailor. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Drat - missed a turn! That puts all my plans back a full month. Patience, countenanced a wise man once. Don't cry over spilt milk, countenanced another wise man. Bring me the head of the fool who forgot to bring the ISP access number on vacation with him, demanded a third wise man. Enough with wise men. If they're so wise, what in the world are they doing with me? ----------------------------------------------------------------- Galaxial Trading Company[F22] writes: "What??!!" Exclaimed Artemis, "another ocean, that close." Make haste my scouts, we must determine whether this is an island, a penninsula, or an isthmus, and soon. Hmm, wonder if we could interest our Trilithian neighbors in building us a ship. Someone get those fellows down south a little more motivated, we've much to do and the banks almost empty. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Up
