AH's France 1940 PBeM From: "Sean Emerson" <semerson@transport.com> Date: Wed, 03 Nov 1999 00:00:00 +0000 Avalon Hill's Classic strategy game from 1972, France 1940, is now a module for the WarGame Processor PBeM engine! Do you play anything remotely similar to the Avalon Hill Classic type WarGames? If so, you'll be interested in checking out the new PBeM engine for Wargamers and passing the word to your opponents. You can find out more and download a full-featured version of it from my website: http://www.transport.com/~semerson/wgp.html WGP is a shareware program for PCs that will greatly simplify your PBeM life. It holds your favorite wargame safely in your computer, free from all the dangers of the house, and far more convenient than gameboards scattered everywhere for months on end. With WGP, just load the specific game module and position, and you're ready for a move with the gameboard before you on the screen. It's easy to learn the controls, and everything you need to do a complete move is available: full countersets, built-in die roller, separate combat mode, even comment boxes to communicate with your opponent. When you're done with your move, there are two choices. If your opponent has WGP, just save the file and send it off attached to an e-mail. He receives it, loads it in, and uses the replay button to see your complete move, action by action, complete with any comments or die rolls. Easy! WGP helps when your opponent doesn't have WGP, too. It still serves to keep track of the game, and there are several ways to save your move as a simple text file, which can be edited and sent to your opponent. Included with WGP is an Editor program, which allows you to create a module for any game you desire. So if the game you play isn't yet available, get to work and do everyone a favor! Some time and maybe artistic ability are needed, but the possibilities are endless. You can get most of the existing WGP modules at http://pbem.brainiac.com/wgp/ (This page is under heavy construction, wear a hard hat).
