Player application From: Sam Palmer <Sam@homeway.demon.co.uk> Date: Mon, 29 Nov 1999 00:00:00 +0000 I have noticed somthing (over the last couple of week) while processing application forms for my two games. I wanted to share it with the group and ask your advice at the same time. It goes somthing like this. I get a player application (or form results) on Monday morning by Monday night the application has been turned around and a confirmation message set to the player. By Tuesday morning the player has been added to the games mailing list and is free to post. But does not, infact the player does not post untill he/she has been coached or asked off list. Even if you send out a game post for them, then I don't always reply. One of our Gms turns applications around slower, he can somtimes take a week to turn the app around and his players always seem to start posting stright away. The confirmation letter is the same and the game is the same, apart maybe from the fact that he commands a warship and I command a science vessel. My question, do you think that if I slowed down my processing of the application I would get a better player response, then just turning them around stright away? I have played in a few games that have taken weeks to turn my application around and I have really looked forward to playing, it's a type disappointment when the game folds a week later. Thanks for your help in adavnce.:) Sam Palmer Primary GM USS Alliance http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Castle/6834/ussalliance/index.html Primary GM USS Williamsen-B www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Castle/6834/usswilliamsen/index.html -- Sam Palmer Up
