Polaris Day 94 News From: "Kerry Harrison" <kerry@madhousepress.com> Date: Thu, 09 Dec 1999 00:00:00 +0000 http://www.daredevil.f9.co.uk/ MAIN BULLETIN - Day 94 Bent Products Holds Rally A public square was swamped today by a huge crowd of Agrommans drawn to a function staged by Bent Products. Farung Kalbrakor, manager of the recently established Bent-Mart Kyop, spoke at the open air meeting. Caterers struggled throughout the day to satisfy the demand for stewed fruit and homebrew which Bent Products succeeded in making available. Analysts suggest that this was only a modest element of the incentive which stirred the crowd. Bent Products is increasingly perceived by citizens of the Free Republic as a national champion. Since Kyop is an Agromman colony, most of the attending workers were eager for a glimpse of representatives. Following recent racial tensions, the Agromman press is especially eager to rely on the success of Bent Products to gauge the health of the Free Republic. According to Mr Kalbrakor, the company is in fine shape. The Kyopan Bent-Mart is the eighth merchant administered by Bent Products in the Cirrus system, taking the company's Zodiac coverage to two thirds. To a rapturous cheer, Farung Kalbrakor stated his belief that the growth of Bent Products was founded on Agromman virtues. His suggestion that Bent Products drew strength from the multi-racial mix of it's employees provoked a relatively muted response. Agromman workers were last night celebrating their belief that the Free Republic was taking the lead in the Frontier Territories. OTHER NEWS Experts Predict Trade Surge An independent panel of experts last night reported their belief that colonies in the Frontier Territories were adhering to protectionist principles. The panel, commissioned by the Candida Senate to study the region, suggested that their research had revealed widespread, if limited, demand for products which governors seemed unwilling to purchase from each other. Responding to the criticism, Commissioner Leopold Sacroix, CEO of Mantua Industries, unveiled an agreement which the Frontier Committee is apparently due to ratify this weekend. CEO Sacroix implied that the agreement would lead to a number of new transactions in the Cirrus system. Gosha Kril Dies in Mysterious Accident The wife of the Sanadran Chief Treasurer was killed yesterday in a bizarre accident as the Clipper she had boarded at Florence Station made a final approach to Kaleys World, the planet which the indicated platform orbits. Krils' cabin apparently depressurised autonomously. The Chief Treasurer was tonight being comforted by employees and hangers on. Witnesses were too distressed to comment on the incident. Florence Aerospace, the small company that is in possession of the orbital transit licence for Kaleys World, has launched an inquiry. The Treasurer and his wife are not known to have any living relatives. Up
