AD&D Medieval PBEM Call for Characters -- The Hall of Worlds and the City of Tyrsis

I'm looking for 4-6 players to play in a newly created AD&D style
world where anything is possible.

World:  Thousands of years ago, two powerful magicians capable of
traversing the gaps between the worlds battled for control of a
powerful artifact.  The world on which they fought, our world, was
unique in that it possessed no innate magic, only that which was
brought in from the outside.  The battle ravaged the world,
anhilated the oceans, and virtually eliminated all life.  The first
mage showed a clear dominance and in preparing to deal the final
blow, the vanquished bored a hole between worlds with such force
that it destroyed the fragile boundaries between worlds...  In an
instant magic flowed from the gaps between the worlds filling our
world and utterly destroying both mages.  The bore, the hole in
the fabric that binds the worlds together remained.  It alone
exists as a permanent stable gateway to the Hall of Worlds.
The bore rests in the center of a citadel atop a mountain and
surrounded by a city of liars, beggars, soothsayers, fanatics, and
merchants, all vying for access to the wealth that comes from a
doorway to everything.  The city of Tyrsis.

Character Requirements:
Human, Approximately 3rd Level, AD&D rules, a skill system will
be used instead of proficiencies, if accepted I will explain
everything.  Keep your character balanced, create the stats as you
wish.  Kits, homemade or otherwise are allowed, I like a good
background, be aware that the world is a virtual desert and that
wealth is based on a currency interchangeable with water.  There
are no non-human species native to this world (though in others
anything is possible), also be aware that magic functions
differently on every world, though due to the bore, this world and
the Hall have the same system.  Email me with questions or comments.
