Fantasy gamers needed From: "MALINDSELL" <MALINDSELL@classicfm.net> Date: Tue, 18 Jan 2000 00:00:00 +0000 MIDDLE EARTH ROLE PLAY [MERP] Adventures by e-mail in Tolkien's world. By the time you read this, you will be reading it on rec.games.frp*.group and you whant to play in a game. Well, yes, you can! I will not turn you down[unless every single Human on the earth whants to play]. What is a PBeM? +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ PBeM stands for Play By Electronic Mail. Basically, in the context of RPGs, this means that the game is played with players and Gamesmaster communicating and sending moves to each other via email. ( Now, wasn't that enlightening? ) It is a good compromise for those GMs and players who cannot afford the time to play face-to-face or can't find a game in their area, and who don't want to resort to a PBM, or a play by mail, game. I have been thinking for ages about a MIDDLE EARTH interactive adventure via e-mail, turns being messages. I am your storyteller, Dungeonmaster[DM], and i will take you on a fantastic journey like Bilbo Baggins and you make the choices. The adventure i will be running will be one where the player[PC] must recover the orb of the forgotten warrior. To do this, you must journey from Hobbiton to the Blue mountains [Ered Luin] where a forgotten Elven warrior lives in a cave, and has created a magical item known as "The Orb of the forgotten Warrior". I will advise the role of a Hobbit to start off with, or a adventurer seeking an adventurer. This game usess a Diceless Action [DA] rules system that lets YOU get on with the action, and no boring rule manuals! To submit a character, send me an e-mail with details of the character you will role play with details such as~ *Name *Race *Sex *Age *History *Personality *Description *Equipment *Player e-mail Send all this to~ MALINDSELL@CLASSICFM.NET and you should hear reply within 2-5 days. Avr. move rate is 2 turns per week. Note on sending turns: It is suggested that you also use a nice format for your subject line, as in:- Subject: [ Nordok, Move # 5:MERP] ( Where Nordok is the name of the player in this case. Oh? It's not as good as Bilbo or Gollum. Well, sue me! ) P.S. if you have a role play web page, please tell them about MERP due to the need of players. Thanx! Up
