REPOST: Outcomes of OTD or UNEXPLAINED? From: "Undisputed" <walkthiswayNOSPAM@worldnet.att.net> Date: Thu, 10 Feb 2000 00:00:00 +0000 Hi all. It's been a while since I posted here or even played a traditional PBM/PBEM, but I was curious if either of the aforementioned games have wrapped. I dropped UNEXPLAINED by British outfit Undying Kings just as it was entering the final phase and would be curious how the storyline ended. Similarly, Out Time Days was a hobby of mine for a year or so around 1994, but I dropped it when I felt like I would never be able to rise to great heights due to financial straights. The game appeared to be open-ended, but was advertised as actually close-ended in that in the end each sect (I was in the FREGA) would enter a final battle of some sort, and how one was "equipped" (for lack of a better word) for that final battle depended on how well one had held true to the natural laws of the planet. (I forget the name of the Out Time Days world). I always liked that feature of these games. Even though UNEXPLAINED was human-moderated and its structure such that it conceivably could have lasted forever, both it and OTD were meant to be close-ended in the sense that when the game was over, it really was over. You couldn't just play another one like with most PBM's. It added a special aura to the experience. Frustrations with both caused me look elsewhere, but both are remembered fondly and I would be grateful for any info. -Undisputed P.S. BTW, whatever happened to Bob McLain? Referenced By Up
