Hi,

I think a web presence by anyone running trad PBM is essential these days.
I've had a few health problems recently which has allowed me to moderate my
turns but left me with little real room to add the little sparkles to the
game - by using our website I'm able to keep people up to date with what's
going-on within the games context to a far better level than I could before.
I know that it doesn't contribute to an opinionon PBweb games, but in
reality a web site which looks nice, is informative and contribuites to a
players feeling of  'bvelonging' can only be a good, thing.

As an aside, I haven't yet visited a PBM/PBeM website which I didn't think
was cool in at least one aspect. Just DOING PBM on the web shows me that
these people have a genuine value to players.

Email is a big benefit for players looking for diplomacy without the
time-sting of conventional mail and telephone. DO is a conventional type of
IF PBM, but the advent of ICQ Chats has escalated the amount of fear,
loathing, backstabbing and vindictiveness between Player Characters.
Wherever I can I include my ICQ in email because the ability to talk to my
players real-time helps me and the other GMs to perhaps gain a new player
here, or put across a different point to another player there. All-in-all,
DO wouldn't be the success it now is without the Net.

(Oh, and its cool fer fragging and deelivering wup-ass to people in TFC)
(Not to be confused with KFC, which is downright dangerous when you're up
against someone with a chicken drum-stick)
