GalaxyView V2.6 released From: Roland Scholz <scholz@pb.izm.fhg.de> Date: Mon, 09 Oct 2000 00:00:00 +0000 A new version of GalaxyView, a turn viewer for Galaxy (standard, GalaxyNG and Blind Galaxy), has been released. You can get the new version at: http://www.pb.izm.fhg.de/~scholz/GalaxyView/ Here is what's new: V2.6 (10/09/00): . GalaxyView now can do a forecast, i.e. it can execute the move available in the Move Editor and then display race information, planets information and group information for the next turn. A forecast also shows possible battles, which can be simulated directly. . Ship Designer improved. . Move Editor can now load moves in unix format (those moves will be converted to dos format and the original file will be saved as <filename>.bak). . Blind Galaxy: Move Editor now supports partial techs for upgrade command. . Border agreements can now be based on planets and co-ordinates. . To sort a table ascending or decending, the left mouse button is now used, because most programs uses only the left mouse button for this purpose. Using the right mouse button on a table will do nothing now. . To fill in a group ID (or a racenbame) in a command dialog, you can now select an entry in a group list (or in the race list). . If you simulate a battle from the News dialog, battle section, you can select, which race belongs to which side (defender or aggressor). . You can now specify comments to be used in every move you create with the Move Editor (see online help for details) . The size of dialogs and table columns should be correct now on desktops using big fonts. . Blind Galaxy: To increase industry by one, you need 0.5 CAP. In Standard games and GalaxyNG, you need 1 CAP. The 'Develop Planets' algorithm always used the 1 CAP for one industry rule. This has been fixed. . Move Editor no longer creates commands with trailing spaces, because there seems to be an NG server having problems with this. . GalaxyView sometimes had problems with reports, where two battles occured at the same planet. This has been fixed. . GalaxyView should now have no problems with names of races and ship types longer than 20 characters. . The formula for the p[kill] value in Ship Designer was wrong and has been corrected. . Bug in planet ownership algorithm fixed. Regards, Roland Scholz Up
