Far Horizons PBEM From: Far Horizons <edenists@gmail.com> Date: Wed, 19 Aug 2009 11:16:10 +0000 This is an open invitation to all mature gamers out there. We are bringing back an interesting PBEM (play by email) space opera - Far Horizons. If you've never played PBEM before, this is a good opportunity to start. Imagine Master of Orion, but with 100 human players to interact with. Or Ogame without so much pressure on your spare time. You take control of a single race in a huge galaxy, which is yours to explore. Inevitably, as you wander through the stars you will meet other races (all player-controlled), and start diplomatic relactions with them (roleplaying experience is quite handy here). There are 3 turns played each week, you are supposed to send your orders before 8 PM CET on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. At the given time the gamemaster will process orders from all players and send out reports for the next turn. The game is quite old (we are using 7th edition ruleset from 1999), but still brings a lot of enjoyment. The original plaintext interface is augmented by modern helper application (optional) which facilitates information handling and makes preparing orders faster and more intuitive. We are looking for up to 100 players, the game will start in September (exact date to be determined, with at least a week notice to all players). The game is absolutely FREE to play.
