A Different Sort of Star Trek PBEM From: stormbird@my-deja.com Date: Mon, 06 Nov 2000 04:50:45 +0000 The USS Satori is an Intrepid-class explorer assigned to Gamma Fleet, a small group of Starfleet ships charged with observing the peace treaty with the Dominion, exploring the area past the wormhole, expanding the borders of the Federation, opening relations with new species, and bridging the gap between civilizations. The Satori has, so far, encountered several new empires, discovered several new species, stopped two wars, made numerous first contacts, and fought both old enemies and supposed allies. Our current mission is to rescue a Starfleet ship whose crew are being used by unknown forces in war games. The goal of this game is to do someting a bit different than the usual shoot-em-up game you find on the web. We have complex storylines, subplots lasting over several missions, a dedicated crew (some playing on the Satori for over a year), and a nurturing game environment. Players are free to develop their characters, come up with their own subplots, suggest missions and guide the plot instead of having it spoon-fed to them. We currently need a chief tactical officer and can take non-Federation characters as well.
