Hi,
I'm from Arolos Weyr, an extremely active Pern PBeM and I'm looking
for something you won't normally see many requests for. Yes, as seems
to be the norm. for many Weyrs, I'm looking for Candidates, but
because Arolos believes there shouls be more to life than simply
trudging from Hatching to Hatching (Hurricanes for instance!
Earthquakes! Kidnappings!)we're also looking for Weyrlings
A recent total overhaul of our webpage, due to a change of webmistress
led to us discovering that although our most recent Weyrling classes
were pretty much completely full (although there are still a COUPLE of
gaps) we have two of the older classes almost completely composed of NPCs.
Now, adopting Weyrlings in most Weyrs isn't normally that much fun.
Afterall, what can you DO with a Weyrling? Candidates you get to
wonder what colour they'll Impress, and riders can cause all SORTS of
trouble... but Weyrlings? Not normally up for much.
We're setting out to change that, with RPed lessons, WeyrlingMasters
who actual take an INTEREST in their charges lives, and general fun
and frolics.#
Due to the fact that these Weyrlings are gradually being adopted, to
gain a full list of those still available you will need to write to
help@arolosweyr.zzn.com We prefer mailing an uptodate copy of
adoptables out than you asking for one that's already been adopted but
is still on a page somewhere, and being disappointed.
Note also, that the advantage of having a Weyrling rather than a
Candidate is that you get to pick the colour you wish. At last check
there was even a bronze Weyrling available for adoption so come and
see what you can get!
If you would prefer a Candidate those are also welcome - and we have
just had a golflight so there will soon be a Clutch. Who Impresses
will be determined by which Candidates are played most - and some may
Stand for several Clutches before they Impress. Competition has run
HIGH recently for Eggs at Arolos and we expect good writing in return
for dragons! You don't have to be experianced, or have played in a
Pern PBeM before or even have played in a PBeM before - you just have
to show that you ARE making an effort.
As always, riders, Holders and Crafters (of all stages - we are also
taking apprentice Harpers to fill a Harper CraftHall - are also welcome.
Don't be afraid, by the way, that this Weyr will die overnight. We've
been running over a year now and are still going strong. Nor need you
worry about getting TOO much mail. If you wish you may now receive
character specific mail (email matthew@eeek.org.uk to ask how this is
possible - ask about the Mail Mangler)
