Description:

Blood & Water

This PBEM game is designed for 15 � 25 active players with a love for
intrigue and diplomacy.

Each player begins with a noble family: a duke, duchess and three children
to begin.  Although each player will have only one leading family, as such
a House, by intermarriage of their children with the families of other
players they will create generations of children who will grow to continue
and expand their House�s empire.

A House begins with a demesne; by breaking their oath of fealty to their
king they expand their demesnes by conquest.  The initial duke and his
subsequent sons usually command the family army, they compose with
different troop types.	Command abilities for each individual are unique;
some are good at extended campaigns, whilst others are better suited to
battle.  A few sons will prove to be only a burden.

Daughters remain at their home; once married they can administer more
efficient tax collections to support the armies of her new House, knowing
that her natural family is safe from her husband by the marital alliance.
Her spouse will hope to produce sons to continue the building of his
House, and daughters to ensure secure relationships with his powerful
neighbours.
Neighbours will trade with one another to improve their lifestyles and
demesnes, and subsequently their armies.  Also they will set spies in
various courts where they can also incite rebellions and organise
assassination attempts.

A player�s objective is to gain a number of demesnes either by either
direct conquest and/or adding those of sworn vassals to his. Also he must
acquire certain items which can only be gained by trade.  Although victory
conditions are influenced by initial player ballot, the game can be open
inasmuch as when a winner retires his line the others may continue.  With
this rule, dropouts are not the detriment they can be, and incoming
players have an opportunity to play to the full extent of game.

Applicants are invited to join a freshly begun game without any great
disadvantage to a late start, or list for a second game.
