Years ago, two unlikely rival countries join forces against a greater evil, the invading Karuli Empire of the mainland. Karuli made many enemies, and thus lost the war to the countries of Zellake, Vilce, and the seperate kingdom of Alahm. Enemy countries off and on over the centuries, Zellake and Vilce made a pact that they would unify after the war. Vilce offered the manpower and weapons, while Zellake provided the funds for the war, and gained the help of their mutual, yet distant ally, the kingdom of Alahm, whose magic finally sealed the mad summoner Galas Elea, whose magical power to summon otherworldly beasts was exeeded only by her unquenchable thrist for power. The war was won by the Black Dragon Alliance, composed of Vilce, Zellake, and Alahm, but at great consequence... Zellake's king was slowly devoured by a horrible disease during the war, leaving his son, Prince Velks, and Prince Velks soon-to-be wife, Lady Necelia, to fight the final battles of the White Griffon War. In the final battle with Galas Elea, Prince Velks was killed, and Zellake was left without royal blood. The entire royal family was dead. It was by the mutual choice of the people and Velk's advisors, that Necelia step up and claim the crown, for the better of the entire country. Vilce, already a country of the lower classes, was reduced to utter poverty in the aftermath of the war. Citizens died simply from starvation. it was at this time that a new form of government was born. Vilce's present ruler stepped down at the wishes of the people, and his daughter, the young Yylic Mersufene, was accepted as Vilce's Corizen. A war hero who played a great part in the defeat of Galas Elea, accepted her duty as one who would lead the people, be lead by the people, and fight for and with them. Vilce's march began, northward they moved with blades drawn, soldiers and theives alike, to wage war on Zellake for the pact that was not honored, and to avenge the feeling within the populace that they were used cheaply, and discarded to waste away. Sensing that no one side was truly wrong, Alahm's ruler ordered all Alahmi officials to withdraw from Zielve and Karuli, back to their tiny, yet powerful home island. With his final breath before being taken into a coma, Zalphas, the ruler of the Alahmi people, ordered that all Alahmi officials would now obey the new ruler, his fifteen year old son, silent and unreadable Vaxlyn. He also ordered that every sorcerer, wizard, and witch would combine their powers and place a barrier over Alahm, and the kingdom, no longer accessible by the outside, would be known as Eden. To Zielve and to the mainland, Alahm's condition was uncertain, as there was no longer communication with the now closed off country. The waters of the pool in the Black Pearl Tower ripple before the eyes of a new summoner, who has unwillingly inherited the power of Galas Elea. He watches closely as it spells out the future of the Baera Archipelago, vi et armis... What will the future of these countries be...? [ This is a new entry for the PBM List.
