New: World Power (free, open-ended, email, www, human, modern, wargame, economic, rpg) From: lindahl@pbm.com (Greg Lindahl) Date: Mon, 07 May 2001 19:13:01 +0000 Name: World Power Email: mladen1@ihug.com.au Frequency: Whenever all players submit their orders Type: Strategy, World-Sim, Wargame Costs: None. All anyone knows is that the world was shattered by a devastating nuclear war between the major powers. All that remained were small nations and communities who survived the fire. Over the last fifty years, those small nations had risen to the status of challenging each other for power and now it seems like a new war is imminent. This is a small introduction for my new game World Power, in which players take the roles of the leaders of small countries, climbing up the new political ladder. You can be peaceful, warlike, defensive etc. etc. I need 5-7 players to tweak the rules and establish the game. Of course, you can pick from any old country or a selection of smaller countries as your dominion, anywhere in the world. I will use a modern atlas and cities that exist now exist in the game, either as smaller versions of themselves or ruins inhabited by a few surviving communities. Some are even still just like they were before the War. If you wish to join (the game is semi-realistic and the combat rules are kind of freeform, with the more description you put into how your forces should act in the battle or campaign, the better) fill out this form: Nation Name: Nation Location: (include country or countries in your dominion) Nation Capital: Two other important cities/industrial centres: Leader Name & Title: Government Type: (Dictatorship, Democracy, Monarchy, Communism etc. etc.) Distribute 70 points between these categories (none may exceed 25 points or fall below 5): Armed Forces: (Determines strength of army and training at start) Industry: (Determines mining/factories/output of nation) Economy: (Determines how strong your nation is economically) Populace: (How much population you start off with) Agriculture: (How much food you can produce) Mining: (How much ore you can mine) Send this to the above address and happy conquering (or peace-mongering :)) Email me for the rules and we do our roleplaying on PlayByWeb, but all turn reports and turn orders are done via email.
