New: The Crescent (free, open-ended, email, human, fantasy, historical, rpg) From: lindahl@pbm.com (Greg Lindahl) Date: Wed, 06 Jun 2001 19:13:01 +0000 Name: The Crescent Email: skeptical_psychic@yahoo.com Frequency: one per two weeks Type: fantasy / alternate history URL: http://thecrescent.cjb.net Costs: free Last-Update: 2001Jun05 Keywords: free, open-ended, email, human, fantasy, historical, rpg Description: "Welcome to Westhaven" The sign is posted on the hilltop that overlooks your very first glimpse of the seemingly idyllic city. Plumes puff from the chimneys of the charcateristic blue-shingled roofs. Horse-drawn carriages meander through the scrawl of quaint and winding streets. And beneath the warm sun of this beautiful afternoon, the thought that this charming community is host to an underlying evil is impossible to conceive. But, fear not. Soon, the sun will set. And it will be dark. You'll find a cozy inn, with a cozy tavern, whose windows are shuttered and framed in rosemary and mistletoe. And then, as the locals become certain you are only the oblivious traveller that you are, they'll tell you... the stories. Witches?, you'll stare queerly. Impossible!, you'll bravely declare. You'll retire to your cozy room. And come morning... will there be a morning? For you? Answer these questions yourself. "Join" the residents of Westhaven in their hunt for those who share commerce with evil. Or "Lurk" as an observer, and decide if what you read is mere fancy, or a disturbing reality. "The Crescent" is a free-form collaborative simulation that allows YOU to participate in the discovery of dark secrets and ancient evils. But, prepare yourselves. The chronicles of those who have come before you can be accessed in our "Archives." In those chronicles lie the secrets that may enable you to survive, perhaps, another night. Superstition and Science compete to capture the minds of Westhaven's residence. The hunt is on. Will you be the Hunter? Or the Hunted? [ This is a new entry for the PBM List.
