It is still under development but it has reached the stage where beta testers are required to assist in discovering bugs, proofreading rules and perhaps having a historical argument or two. Rules and maps are available for immediate review. An open beta will be starting in June/July 2001. If you're interested in working on this project then send an email to me at WBTSOrders@Hotmail.com Game Features Players Role: Each of the ten players (5 USA and 5 CSA) are Department commanders who start with two Generals, one Army and a Department HQ. Each player can activate up to three Generals per turn for movement / combat / rallying / entrenchment etc. Map Scale: Point to point movement. River movement allowed for both sides however CSA units cannot Rivermove to a USA garrisoned location. Amphibious invasion allowed for USA only. Time Scale: The war takes 19 turns to complete. Each turn (except Nov-Feb) covers two months and consists of four impulses. Generals can be active for 2,3 or 4 of those impulses depending on their initiative rating. One turn is processed each week. Units: Corps and Armies. Each Corp must be commanded by a specific General. Each Department has one Army which allows multiple Corps to move and fight as a single unit. Reinforcements: Troop reinforcements arrive each turn at Department HQs. Additional Generals arrive each turn, but in a random order and assigned to a random Department. A total of 39 USA and 33 CSA historical Generals are deployed during the game. Each General has a separate ratings for initiative, strategy and tactics. Supply: Supply sources (state capitals for CSA and north map edge for USA) are required for units to fight and move. Supply range is three waypoints but Supply Depots can be constructed to extend this range. Winning the Game: The USA must occupy all CSA state capitals to win. The CSA must prevent this. If the CSA wins sufficient battles and occupies key USA cities then additional CSA troop reinforcements will appear according to the Foreign Intervention Index.
