White Lake, MI -- We are pleased to announce that Gary Thompson, a well known industry figure for his work on the Fiction & Fantasy Network (FFN), has agreed to join the Guild of Blades Publishing Group's staff as the company's Director of Internet Development. Gary will be assuming a leadership position within the company and spearheading many of the Guild's growing Internet ventures, as well as joining the company as a partner. The Guild of Blades Publishing Group launched its web site as early as 1996, well before the release of its first product, Grunt Fantasy Miniatures 2nd Edition. "The Guild's Internet presence has always been an important part of the company's marketing reach" said Guild of Blades CEO, Ryan Johnson. "We've had an aggressive business plan in place since early 1998 that centered around some of our Internet ventures, but the company had suffered numerous set backs in that area, from having our website hacked in late 1998, to a series of unreliable Internet hosts and designers. We were very pleased when Gary approached us regarding this position at the company, as we have been aware of his work on www.Fiction-Fantasy.net and his other sites for some time. After some prolonged talks it quickly became apparant that Gary shared our vision for the company's online goals and ventures for the gaming hobby. So we were very pleased that he has decided to accept this position and join the partners here at the Guild". "Finding more ways to support the gaming industry and the gamers, has been a goal for me. The Guild of Blades is one company that has ideas similar to mine, I'm looking forward to helping them achieve their goals." said Gary Thompson. Gary's position at the Guild will not effect The Fiction & Fantasy Network, which will continue under Gary's ownership. The Fiction & Fantasy Network will continue its unbiased support of the gaming industry and not be affected by this appointment. One project Gary will be tackling is to take over the design and implemention of the RPGCity.com network that the Guild of Blades has had in development. A separate agreement has been made that shall make RPGCity.com a joint venture between the Guild of Blades Publishing Group and the Fiction & Fantasy Network. The two companies reach two entirely different target audiences, both highly desired for the RPGCity.com network. The support the RPGCity.com network will draw from both companies will make it a success that much faster. RPGCity.com will be a network of sites supporting the gaming hobby and reporting on the gaming industry in individual metro areas, linking gamers with other local gamers, and promoting local hobby retail shops, conventions, game clubs, and manufacturers. The RPGCity.com network will help support the local gaming communities at the local level, a service that is simply non existant at this time, and work with local industry businesses to foster the growth of those communities.
