GAME CONCEPT This is a time-travel game based on a group of modern-dayteenagers who have set out to uncover the mysterious City of Midnight, a city rumoured to be living in a state of limbo for more than 1000 years. Please read the Background for more information. While I will not play a dictator and force your every move, there will be a general storyline that I am sticking to. If you stray from the story(e.g. decide to wander off on your own)I will simply find a way to bring you back to the story. Players are required to post at least 2 times a week. I myself will post at least once every two days, but will modify the storyline to suit each player. I am looking for players who can post with DETAIL and possess a decent amount of English grammar and spelling ability. Note that I will be slightly picky when accepting players on the grounds of clear, understandable writing skills. One-liners are not acceptable; save them for picking up. Maybe you would like to know a bit about me, and my experiences with the FFRPG industry. I have GMed approximately 5 games in my life, with two of them still running on Playbyweb. Currently, I can devote around one set of posting every two days, or once per day if I am lucky. I have also played FFRPG for more than 4 years, with my first PBEM game still running for its fourth year. BACKGROUND In the time when dragons scoured the skies, when knights battled through time and space in shining armour, the Empire of Lorenzo was ruled by the wise king, Faust. Emperor Faust was a holy man, and often waged long crusades against the forces of darkness to prove his worth. However, it was during one of these battles that sealed his fate. On that fateful attack on Castle Loreign, the heart of darkness, even the honourable soul of Emperor Faust could not withstand the evil that surrounded the castle. Few knew what had happened, but upon his return to his kingdom, it was obvious the Emperor had changed. It began with a series of executions for the most lowly of crimes, and soon, the entire nation he commanded trembled at his prescence. Few dared to challenge his ways, and those who did found themselves in front of the execution block. Neverthless, one of his captains found the courage to organise a resistance group, and within months, the group became a rebellion. Civil war rocked the kingdom for years, and eventually, it became obvious that the rebels had the upper hand. Finally, seven years and seven moons after Faust's defection to darkness, the captain and his forces stormed Kendor, capital of the Empire, razing the seat of power with sadness in their hearts. Finally arriving at the Emperor's throne, the captain begged for forgiveness as he plunged his blade deep into the twisted heart of Faust. With his dying breath, Faust cursed the city of Kendor for eternity, throwing the entire city into a state of terror.... And so, it is rumoured that every midnight, the city of Kendor appears for six hours to the mortal world, and if one should be brave enough to approach the city, they can see the citizens going about their daily lives, oblivous to the outside world..... As a young child, you have often heard rumours of the mysterious City of Midnight. Sometimes a newspaper would report mysterious lights in the moors of Hampshire, or the story would be told around warm campfires. But never had you been close to the "location" of the city. Until now. You recieved the information booklets for senior camp. And looking at it, you thought the location of the camp seemed familiar. Hampshire Moor. The thought suddenly struck you, at the same time as it struck the rest of the class. The City of Midnight was in Hampshire Moor. At camp, the stories around the campfire were interesting, and the midnight treks out of the cabin provided some entertainment, making up for the boredom you usually experience on camps. But never had you thought of actually making a trek to the reported lights of the ghost city. Yet, as you talked and laughed during the day, this idea struck you all as brilliant. And so, as the sun fell beneath the sky, plans were made and equipment checked as the journey began to find the City of Midnight. [ This is a new entry for the PBM List.
