At the end of each episode, teh reader must choose what the main character does next by clicking on Decision Icons contained in the meail. Adventures follow the actions of a lone time traveller, passing through key historical epochs on a series of missions. Titles include "Sword of Caesar," "American Revolutionary," "Mystery of Atlantis," "Civil War Secret Agent" and "WWII Code Breaker." Time Machine is interactive historical fiction, in which episodes turn on the reader's command of real-world facts. Each title comes with a Data Bank, Time Lines and Maps, providing the factual knowledge one needs both to appreciate the events and characters, as well as to successfully complete the adventure. Adventures are available on a per-title basis, as well as on an annual subscription. The publisher, ipicturebooks.com (an AOL Time Warner affiliate), is releasing 25 titles this year, and 7 are presently online.
