W.W.F. Out of Control From: "Tim" <wish.iwere@home.com> Date: Tue, 23 Oct 2001 06:19:28 +0000 What if a massive entertainment icon crossed the fine line that sits between moral and amoral? What if a national phenomenon gained the means and desire to become a greater authority than the authorities themselves? What if somebody found a loophole in the justice system that allowed them to hold a publicly televised blood sport in North America? What if it became mainstream entertainment? Guess what? You can stop asking 'what if?'. Welcome to W.W.F. Out of Control, a role-playing experience set in a fictional future, where explicit violence is the ONLY way to the top of the ratings chart. Internationally renown billionaire Jonathan Crupp has purchased the W.W.F. and all of it's respected shares, and through varying means of cash-sliding, has also purchased the entire island of Vancouver from the Canadian government. He's also pulled the right strings in the right places, and got himself 4 5-hour timeslots on the CTV network. The court's can't even try go after him without first meeting an unbreachable bulwark of slicker-than-oil lawyers. With an entire island as his arena, and all but 4 hours of the day to mesmerize fans with, Crupp has spent the past 30 years turning the W.W.F. into the no-holds-barred, blood-shedding fatality-fest that it is now. He's an invincible man with an income that bests the U.S.A.'s debt. And guess what? He's just offered you a contract. And a contract you're not about to refuse. Of course, man vs. man matches could only last so long before people wanted MORE. Not just generic human carnage; but grinding steel, choking fumes, spinning tires and flaming wreckage. The W.W.F. no longer relies on muscle-bound body-builders to do their crowd-pleasing; but ground-shaking monstrous machines in full vehicular combat, using any and all means of weaponry. Of course, while the machines may be the superstars, the men who crew them also provide plenty of pleasure to the viewers- in the gut-spilling sort of way. This game will be (mostly) freeform, and no dice or statistics are going to be used within it. You can make-up your combat vehicle however you like, just using the generic strengths/weaknesses system to determine what kind of machine it is. Combat works using a consent-style system. That is, nobody can land an attack on you unless you allow it, and visa-versa. You post your ACTION; whomever you attacked posts the result. If not abused, this system work quite beautifully. It also means you don't have to go learn a new dice system. Just drop-on by the Yahoogroup, at the address below, and check us out :) http://groups.yahoo.com/group/almighty_exaulted Up
