TMNT & OS New Campaign - Chalk River! From: soopahphat@yahoo.com (David L.) Date: Wed, 07 Nov 2001 16:55:26 +0000 Chalk River, a new TMNT & OS RPG Campaign Check out the yahoo group, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/chalk_river Email soopahphat@yahoo.com to submit your character submission! Greetings! Interested players are invited to submit character ideas for a TMNT & OS (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness) campaign, also using Ninjas & Superspies rules and related TMNT supplements. I'm looking for about four to six players to play mutant animals in a modern day campaign, starting out from a nuclear research facility. The animals should be common to the area of the Ottawa River valley. If you don't know it, the Ottawa River makes up much of the border between the provinces of Quebec and Ontario in Canada, part of the region known as the great Canadian shield. The origin of the mutations is the Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL) nuclear research laboratory (very high security) situated on the banks of the Ottawa River (Ontario side) near a very small town called Chalk River. A number of miles upstream is another small town, Deep River, home to most of the personnel at AECL. BTW, I haven't GM'd a game for awhile, and never PBEM, but I have played AD&D PBEMs as a player and I would like the challenge of creating a new campaign with one of my all time favourite gaming systems. If you also enjoy the TMNT role-playing game then drop me a line and tell me your ideas for your character. The characters will be starting off as young animals just becoming aware of their mutant abilities, their own consciousness, and the world around them. Think of ways that your character has gained their mutations, either by design or by accident (there is lots of stored radioactive material on land nearby the lab compound, some additional areas nearby with accidental spills, leakage of Tritium (?) from the reactors into the river, and there is significant biological research taking place in the laboratory itself). Come up with your character's personality (as you expect it will develop over time as they mature) and future expected skills set (they will need to develop their skills during the course of the game, no instant ninjas!). Your animals may start off with no language, or speaking either English or French or something else (depends on their initial contacts after mutation). I'm looking for people with a good grasp of story telling who like a lot of adventure at the same time. So spend some time on your character's background and motivations, it will pay off. I do not want fully rolled out characters. Write up a description and I'll work with you on the nuts and bolts of the characters. If you are accepted then I will generate the dice rolls for your character's attributes. I have set up a yahoo group for our postings and related files. Please email me or the group to subscribe. Ah, and I'm looking for players who will commit to posting twice a week. No deadbeats, please! I plan on updating turns (responding to player actions) at least that often. Good luck, and welcome! Up
