Are you a leader ???? From: "Domestos" <domestos@rahrahrandel.fsnet.co.uk> Date: Sat, 27 Oct 2001 15:49:31 +0000 This is a new PBeM game called 'Nations' now looking for beta testers for its first game - 10 places left - join now, hurry... You are the leader, the boss, the president, the idol... call it what you will but you're still in charge. You control everything. Your people, taxes, armies, navies and airforces. You live in a world that has other nations, other presidents, other leaders that are all just as powerful as you. A state of cold war has been in play for many decades. But peace is current in your world, for now. Your people have demanded that you fulfil your promises, They want more oil, so petrol prices become cheaper, they want more land so the farmers can earn a better living, they want access to a port so more trade can take place. And what about that president that snubbed your invitation to dinner last week, are you going to let his nation get away with it??? No take him out, take them all out... If you do not fulfil these promises there will be a coo, and your people will revolt against you and your government. How will you provide them with this promise? If you do not then you will lose power and someone else will take your place, and then where will you be??? So use some tax money to buy a new military ship, and buy some long range bombers to go and take out that city that's causing you problems... Hey why not take over that city on your border, threes lots of rich people there that could pay you more taxes. What's that you hear, your good friend has had a city that have been hit by a powerful enemy neighbour, and thousands have been killed??? What are you going to do about that. But don;t send everything in, you still need to protect your nation from attack, this is what the enemy might have been planning. And how do you know your friend isn't telling a few lies, maybe he wants some of you troops and planes in his country so he can get rid of them easily... hhmmm you didn;t think of that did you... Time to make allies quick... but who with? do you trust them ? This game has very few rules apart from the obvious one. You do as you wish (within the guidelines) and use your countries full strength and power to the utmost to fulfil your goals. The first nation to fulfil its goals wins, it could take a month or it could take years... Are you a leader ? -- Thanks... Domestos -- Thanks... Andrew Makinson Up
