A war report from Skaffen:

"Unit 678 reporting in. All seems clear at present. No sign of enemy
activity."

(Gentle hissing of the data recorder, punctuated by the thwee-chunk of
the titan's adamantium legs and the crunching of crushed rock
underfoot. Then it stops for a second. The noise of a lark is barely
audible in the distance. There is a loud beeping noise in the cockpit)

"Wait I'm picking up multiple signatures. I can't make out from which
direction, I'm getting too many echoes. I'm going to try
re-calibrating."

(A pause. The lark has now stopped.)

"Damn thing..."

(Suddenly there is an enormous detonation and a rush of air. The
transmission is lost for a couple of seconds. Then there is a chatter
of gunfire, and a dull roaring noise, probably a pulveriser or some
kind of ion cannon)

"Holy (transmission lost)! They're all over me! Eat this you
(static)!"

(There are several loud pops followed by an explosion and what sounds
like the whoosh of razor darts)

"Ha take that sucker!"

(Shouts and screams fill the air. Somewhere a klaxon is howling)

"There's too many of them! I....I....Ahhhhhhhhhh......"

(Explosion. Silence.)

"That, my Lord, is a transmission we received at 0832, a Revenant
class titan responding to a possible enemy threat. Our drones found
the black box several hundred yards from the battle sight.  There was
considerable amounts of wreckage, from both sides. We managed to
identify the attackers, from the debris, as Behemoth titans. It seems
that our trooper was attacked by four enemy titans, using the mineral
deposits in the rock to confuse the Revenant's scanners. He gave a
good account of himself as the remains testified."

"What was his name?"

"P-pardon, my Lord"

"His name, his name, what was it?"

"Lieutenant Case, my Lord, Lieutenant Henry Case."

"See that he is given a state burial with full military honours. See
that his widow receives a decent pension."

"B-but, my Lord...."

"BUT NOTHING! YOU DARE TO QUESTION ME! BEGONE FROM MY SIGHT!"

The lackey scurried away with a whimper.
